Naim Audio has launched Uniti Atom Headphone Edition, a headphone-optimised iteration of its Uniti Atom music streaming system. Unlike traditional headphone amplifiers and DACs, which require a separate computer or streaming device to deliver, the Uniti Atom Headphone Edition is a ready to play music-streaming system that simply needs headphones.
The amplifier uses trickle-down technology from Naim’s flagship Statement amplifier, and is designed to power even the most premium headphones, including the Focal Utopia (pictured).
The unit boasts an all new transformer design, with a discrete transistor circuit design that offers balanced headphone outputs, on both 4 pin XLR and Pentaconn. There is also a standard 6.3mm output.
Naim’s music-streaming platform supports a wide variety of streaming services, including Qobuz, TIDAL and Spotify, plus podcasts and Internet radio with a curated collection of HD stations.
Roon Ready, connectivity options include AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in. There’s also analogue and digital input connectivity, including turntable, and USB for sticks/drives. File resolution reaches up to 32bit/384kHz. UPnP support is standard.
The Uniti Atom Headphone Edition can also serve as a streaming pre-amplifier, coupled to active loudspeakers for an instant system, or a power amplifier driving passive speakers.
Paul Neville, Naim Research & Development Director, said: “We have designed this special edition of the mighty Uniti Atom to be the premium music streaming system for solo listening, just add headphones to escape into your own world of high-quality sound.”
The Uniti Atom Headphone Edition sells for £2,399.
