Musical Fidelity has unveiled the LS3/5A two-way standmount loudspeaker. Manufactured according to the BBC R&D design 1976/29, the enclosure was originally specified for listening places where space was limited, specifically mobile control rooms for television broadcasting.
Over the course of its life, the original LS3/5A became an industry standard for music studios. It also gained a keen following in audiophile circles, we’re told.
This latest version, then, is sure to excite interest amongst music fans.
Also announced by the brand is the LS5/9. The Musical Fidelity LS5/9 is a two-way bass reflex speaker that has been manufactured according to the BBC R&D design1983/10. It’s widely acknowledged to serve a wide range range of music genres.
Both make their debut at this week’s High End show in Munich. The Musical Fidelity LS3/5A is priced at £2,349 (€2,499.00) per pair, the LS5/9 slightly pricier at £4,099 (€4,500.00).
Distribution is by Henley Audio.
