Monitor Audio has launched its Creator Series of custom installation loudspeakers aimed at home cinema and hi-fi installations.
The 19 strong collection splits into 3 tiers, each offering improved performance and features over the previous one. The Creator Series, says Monitor Audio, redefines British high-fidelity architectural sound.
We're told the range has been widely influenced by the company's Partner Programme (MAPP) feedback, leading to a more streamlined and simplified collection.
One obvious innovation is the Quik-Link terminal designed to make installation faster. Quik-Link allows the installer to remove the terminal block from the physical speaker and pre-terminate the speaker cables to it. Once a speaker is ready to be fitted within its cut-out, the Quik-Link can be offered up to the connection point on the speaker and magnetically snaps and locks into place.
The acoustic performance of the series has been improved with increased driver size and configurations of drivers within each tier. Tier 1 speakers are a 2-way configuration with C-CAM mid-bass drivers and tweeters, Tier 2 has RST II mid-bass drivers with added speaker placement flexibility, and Tier 3 is a 3-way configuration with RDT III bass drivers and an IDC II mid/tweeter range driver array for the largest soundstage.
On the four Controlled Performance (CP) models in the Creator Series, built-in back boxes mean hassle-free installation and controllable sound, even in the trickiest of applications, says the brand.
Across medium and large in-ceiling speaker sizes, MA’s acoustic team has kept the overall cut-out sizes the same as previous models yet increased the driver size from 6.5- to 7-inches and from 8- to 9- inch drivers.
For home theatre installations, the new Tier 2 T2X combines the previous generation’s ‘T2’ and ‘FX’ to bring all the qualities of each into one highly versatile speaker that can be used in ‘cinema mono FX’, ‘mono wide dispersion’ and ‘single stereo’ modes.
The Creator Series can be seen on the Monitor Audio booth, at ISE 2023.
