Monitor Audio refreshes Radius Series for residential and commercial installations

Monitor Audio has introduced the Radius Series 4G, a root and branch update to its long-running compact loudspeaker range.

Designed for both residential and commercial environments, the new collection comprises three models: the Radius 1 bookshelf speaker, the larger Radius 3 compact and the Radius On-Wall, offering installers a flexible loudspeaker platform suitable for everything from stereo systems and multi-room audio to home cinema and hospitality applications.

Supporting accessories include dedicated floor stands, desk pads and wall-mounting solutions. The brand says the redesign has been guided by its Transparent Design Philosophy, balancing performance, aesthetics and ease of integration.

At the heart of the new series is the latest generation of the company's proprietary C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) driver technology. The bass and midrange units now employ Monitor Audio's RST III (Rigid Surface Technology) cone geometry, designed to reduce unwanted resonances and improve driver control across the frequency range.

The Radius Series 4G also introduces an all-new C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. Unlike conventional designs that use an internal magnet assembly, the new unit adopts an external magnet motor structure more commonly associated with larger drive units. The revised architecture is intended to improve control and consistency while maintaining the detailed high-frequency performance for which the Radius range has become known.

Further engineering work has focused on cabinet construction and crossover design. Through-Bolt Driver Bracing secures the drive units directly to the rear of the enclosure, increasing structural rigidity and helping to minimise unwanted chassis resonance.
The crossover networks have also been completely reworked, when it comes to component selection and signal transfer between amplifier and drivers.

Low-frequency performance has been enhanced through the latest HiVe II port design, which promotes smoother airflow and reduces turbulence. On the Radius 3, the port has grown by 50 per cent compared with the previous generation, helping to deliver greater bass extension and control from a compact cabinet.

There’s also considerable installation flexibility. The Radius 1 can be wall mounted using Monitor Audio's MASM bracket, while the Radius 3 supports the FIX-M bracket system. The range can be used as a standalone stereo solution or scaled into larger multi-channel home cinema and distributed audio installations.

The Radius Series 4G is available now. UK pricing starts at £425 per pair for the Radius 1 and £575 per pair for the Radius 3. The Radius On-Wall is priced at £450 per speaker. Accessories include the Radius Floor Stand at £300 per pair, the Desk Pad at £30 per pair, the MASM Wall Bracket at £20 each and the FIX-M Wall Bracket at £45 each.
