Monitor Audio opens Hyphn to more than 200 custom finishes

Monitor Audio is now offering its flagship Hyphn loudspeaker in more than 200 custom finishes, expanding the design possibilities for one of the company’s most ambitious engineering projects.

Hyphn was created as a 50th‑anniversary statement piece. Sitting above the Platinum Series, it uses a dual‑column cabinet joined by a central M‑Array driver module. The structure is milled from a composite of acrylic, minerals and natural pigments, chosen for stiffness and acoustic neutrality. This overtly sculptural form is designed to suppress internal resonances and reduce cabinet‑borne colouration.

Monitor Audio says it will now hand‑paint Hyphn in a wide palette of matte, gloss and metallic finishes. These custom models will be built to order in Rayleigh, Essex, assembled by a small team of technicians, and require a three‑month lead time.

The process is entirely manual, from paintwork to final assembly, allowing owners to specify a finish that aligns with interior schemes or bespoke installations. The original colours - Matte Heritage Green, Matte Black and Pure Satin White - remain part of the standard collection, while the new programme adds more than 200 options for clients who want a personalised version of the flagship model.

Hyphn Custom Finish Editions are priced at £80,250 per piece, with the standard finish at £70,000. Orders are open now.
