Monitor Audio expands Creator Series with new in‑wall subwoofer range

Monitor Audio has introduced a new family of in‑wall subwoofers and dedicated DSP amplification, as part of its growing install-friendly Creator Series.

The three‑tier range comprises the WS1‑W10, WS2‑W12 and WS3‑W12. Each sub is engineered with its own bespoke rear enclosure and precisely matched to Creator Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. The Tier 1 (WS1-W10) and Tier 2 (WS2-W12) subwoofers are driven by the all-new IA500-S Amplifier, while Tier 3 (WS3-W12) is paired with the powerful IA750-2 Installation Amplifier.

All fit within conventional 4-inch wall depths, allowing high‑output bass to be specified in projects where deeper 6‑inch cavities are not available.

The WS1‑W10 uses a 10‑inch C‑CAM driver, while the WS2‑W12 and WS3‑W12 step up to low‑profile, high‑excursion 12‑inch units featuring Monitor Audio’s RST II cone geometry.

This design is asid to help control cone break‑up and improves dispersion, producing cleaner, more consistent bass.

Each subwoofer is paired with a tuned rear enclosure: the WS2‑W12 uses internal partitions to reduce standing waves and optimise airflow, while the WS3‑W12 combines metal, wood and advanced bracing to maximise internal volume and minimise vibration. Amplification is equally tailored.

The new IA500‑S delivers 250 watts to the WS1‑W10 and 500 watts to the WS2‑W12, with preset EQ modes for fast on‑site tuning. The WS3‑W12 is driven by the IA750‑2, offering installers greater flexibility when designing distributed audio or home cinema systems.

Across the range, Monitor Audio has focused on discreet installation and long‑term reliability. A low‑profile magnetic grille provides a flush finish, while cable routing is simplified through integrated grommets on the WS1‑W10 and WS2‑W12, and gold‑plated spring‑loaded terminals on the WS3‑W12. The WS1‑W10 uses the company’s Tri‑Grip II fixing system with isolation brackets, while the larger models mount directly into their enclosures for a robust, straightforward fit.

By engineering all three models for 4‑inch stud walls, Monitor Audio aims to give installers greater freedom to specify high‑performance bass in both residential and commercial environments.

The Creator Series In‑Wall Subwoofers and Amplification arrive January 2027. Pricing begins at £625 / €750 / $800 for the WS1‑W10, rising to £1300 / €1500 / $1700 for the WS2‑W12 and £2600 / €3000 / $3300 for the WS3‑W12. Full package options, including back boxes and amplifiers, range from £1500 / €1750 / $1925 to £4700 / €5415 / $6135. The IA500‑S amplifier is priced at £700 / €800 / $900, while the IA750‑2 is £2100 / €2835 / $2415.
