Monitor Audio has launched a four‑strong range of Fire Hoods engineered specifically for its Creator Series in‑ceiling and in‑wall speakers.
The hoods are designed to maintain the fire performance of ceilings and walls once an architectural speaker has been installed, giving integrators a compliant, manufacturer‑matched solution at a time when fire protection is becoming a core part of CI planning.
The range comprises four models - CS‑FH, CML‑FH, WM‑FH and WL‑FH - covering the complete Creator Series portfolio. Each hood is purpose‑designed for its corresponding speaker type, ensuring a consistent installation method and predictable performance across the range.
The company says the hoods address a simple but often overlooked issue: cutting an aperture for a speaker can compromise the fire integrity of the original structure. The new hoods are installed around the rear of the speaker before it’s fixed into the ceiling or wall. Once in place, they create a protective enclosure that restores the fire rating of the construction.
Monitor Audio says the hoods also help reduce sound transmission into adjacent spaces, and their semi‑sealed air volume can support improved bass performance and overall dynamics.
Pricing is set at £65 for the CS‑FH, £75 for the CML‑FH, £120 for the WM‑FH and £150 for the WL‑FH.
