British turntable specialist Michell has announced the Revolv, a new high-end record deck that bridges the gap between the minimalist TecnoDec and the company’s iconic Gyro model.

The Revolv incorporates key Gyro innovations into a reimagined chassis design. The result, says Michell, is a turntable that delivers high levels of musical detail, dynamic range and mechanical stability at its price point.

“The GyroDec has long been a much-coveted product for discerning audiophiles,” says Jonathan Nye, managing director of Michell Audio. “With Revolv, we’ve applied that same design philosophy and precision engineering to create a deck that offers outstanding performance and longevity.”

The Revolv features a rigid 19mm aerospace-grade aluminium chassis machined from a single block. This high-mass foundation is designed to control and dissipate unwanted vibration, aided by isolation feet incorporating six bespoke Sorbothane damping nodes. A precision tonearm mount ensures direct mechanical grounding for optimal energy transfer and cartridge stability, minimising colouration and improving low-level detail.

Borrowed from the Gyro is Michell’s renowned inverted bearing, which uses a mono-helix groove to circulate oil consistently around the bearing walls for low-friction rotation and extended durability.

The Delrin platter, chosen for its vibration-damping qualities and impedance match to vinyl, retains Michell’s signature solid-turned brass weights, providing additional mass and momentum to enhance speed stability and reduce wow and flutter.

Drive is supplied by a new isolated, free-standing motor and a regulated power supply machined from aluminium billet, designed for low noise and electromagnetic shielding. Electronic speed switching between 33.3 and 45 RPM comes as standard.

Designed and built in the UK, the Revolv is upgradeable, with a modular approach that allows owners to enhance performance over time. The combination of timeless engineering, compact footprint and future-ready design is intended to ensure long-term satisfaction and pride of ownership.

The Michell Revolv turntable is available now, priced at £3,995 without tonearm or cartridge.
