McIntosh has unveiled a new heavyweight home theatre receiver. The MHT300 is a high-end, old-school 7.2 channel powerhouse, able to flex 150 Watts of McIntosh muscle per channel, albeit with a slew of new audio technology beneath the lid.
The MHT300 supports 8k/60Hz and 4k120Hz video on all four HDMI inputs. Dirac Live Room Correction is available to optimise output to specific room acoustics. Other McIntosh niceties include Power Guard and Sentry Monitor short-circuit protection.
The MHT300 embraces traditional McIntosh design, with a signature black glass front panel, rotary control knobs, and illuminated McIntosh logo.
Integrators should note that additional external amplifiers are required if you're looking to utilise the MHT300 into a 7.2.4 home theatre receiver.
The MHT300 will be available through US and Canadian McIntosh Dealers beginning March , and the rest of the world, shortly thereafter. It’ll retail in the UK for £8,995. Distribution is via Fine Sound UK.
