The high-end heroes of the 2023 Marantz AV component line, the AV 10 preamp processor and AMP 10 power amp, are now available in the UK and Europe. Part of the brand's Cinema Series, the pair boast a host of customizable features as well as a stylish new cosmetic design.
The Marantz AV 10 is a reference-grade 15.4-channel 8k-capable AV preamp/processor, while its partner is a 16-channel 200-watt reference power amplifier.
Codec support covers Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro 3D, while acoustic room correction comes via Audyssey MultEQ XT32. There’s the option of Dirac Live calibration through PC or smart devices. Like other models in the new Marantz Cinema Series, the AV 10 benefits from a new, hi-res user interface.
Marantz has partnered with award-winning composer Max Richter for the launch.
There are seven HDMI inputs, all of which support video playback up to 8k, plus digital, analogue and phono inputs. HEOS is built-in, for music streaming and multiroom audio integration.
The 16-channel Amp 10 is built around HDAM-SA2 technology, and newly developed Class D amplification. Power output is rated at a hefty 200 watts per channel (into 8 ohms), and 400 watts (into 4 ohms).
While each of the 16 channels can operate independently, channel pairs can also be switched into bi-amp mode for isolating frequency bands from each other, or switched into BTL mode. Custom install integration is also supported.
The Marantz AV 10 and AMP 10 are each priced at £6,000 ($7,000/ €7,000) and are available from authorised Marantz retailers.
