Marantz MCR 60n Hi‑Fi system mixes CD playback with HDMI

Marantz has introduced a next generation micro‑system that brings CD playback, network streaming, HDMI eARC, turntable connectivity and signature tuning into a single compact chassis.

Available in Matte Black globally and Champagne Gold in Europe, the MCR 60n is built around a newly developed power supply able to deliver 65 watts per channel (into 4 ohms), while four channels of amplification allow Bi‑Amp, Parallel BTL and dual‑speaker configurations, making the system adaptable to different loudspeaker layouts, or power two independent listening zones.

Connectivity is extensive. The addition of HDMI eARC, with Dolby Digital Plus support, open the door for wider home entertainment options, and vinyl users gain a newly integrated MM phono stage.

Streaming support covers PCM up to 384kHz/32‑bit, DSD up to 11.2MHz and there’s full HEOS integration for multi‑room audio, with Spotify, TIDAL and Qobuz Connect all supported, alongside AirPlay 2 and Roon.

Bluetooth works in both receive and transmit modes, allowing late‑night listening via wireless headphones. Four Smart Select presets offer quick access to preferred sources and settings.

New optimisation features also bring the unit closer to full‑size separates. A configurable subwoofer output with adjustable crossover settings will help with low‑frequency integration, while Dirac Live is available as an optional upgrade for room correction.

Variable outputs allow the MCR 60n to operate as a streaming preamplifier; an Ethernet port, USB input, optical digital audio input and, for the DAB model, a digital radio tuner round out the specification.

The Marantz MCR 60n DAB is priced at £800 (€900) through authorised Marantz retailers
