Manhattan TV is the latest device specialist to announce a standalone Freely streamer. Not only can the diminutive Manhattan Aero access Freely over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, it’s also built on the latest Tivo smart TV OS, bringing together live TV, catch-up and popular streaming services via a single interface.
Major apps available at launch include Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and YouTube, as well as TiVo+, which adds a further 400-plus free FAST streaming channels and an extensive on-demand library. Unlike the rival Netgem PLEIO streamer there’s no talk of additional subscriptions to access these channels.
The Aero offers 4K support, presumably for its streaming apps and iPlayer, as well as voice control via TiVo Voice.
Because the Aero streams entirely over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, it can be deployed in rooms where traditional broadcast connections are impractical, making it particularly relevant for bedrooms, kitchens and rented properties.
The launch also comes amid growing interest in Freely as a platform. Research cited by Manhattan suggests Freely could become the UK’s largest TV device platform within five years, with YouGov data indicating that more than 70 per cent of Samsung and LG TV users want Freely on their next set. For those consumers, the Aero offers an interim route to access the service without replacing their television.
Alex Arbab-Zadeh, COO at Manhattan, said: “Freely is a brilliant new platform that delivers Great British Telly over broadband with no monthly bills – but there are millions of TVs out there that don't have it built in. Aero fixes that. Just connect to Wi-Fi and you've got live TV, catch-up and all your favourite streaming apps – a simple, affordable way to upgrade any TV without having to replace it.”
Jonathan Thompson, CEO at Everyone TV, added: “We’re thrilled to expand Freely with the launch of the Manhattan Aero 4K TV streamer device. Our research shows that viewers who can’t yet stream Freely are eager to do so, and with the new Manhattan Aero, even more people can enjoy the same Freely experience found on TVs – bringing all their favourite live and on-demand TV together, for free, over Wi-Fi.”
The Manhattan Aero 4K TV Streamer with Freely will be available from February 2026, priced at £69.99, through Amazon and other retailers.
