Architectural lighting and shading solutions company Lutron Electronics, looked to inspire the architecture and design community at the Tate Modern last week, with Prismatic - A Lutron by Design Experience.
The interactive pop-up enabled London’s design community to experiment with light in a bespoke iridescent cube fitted out with Lutron lighting tech; the resulting interplay of light and iridescent colour created a uniquely immersive experience.
Control came via the Lutron Lighting Designer App, which allowed visitors to experiment with the system and save their lighting creations for the structure.
The Prismatic cube utilised Lutron’s flexible Athena lighting and shading control solution. Athena brings intuitive app-based setup and control to commercial lighting design and execution.
“Lutron launched in the 1960s with the aim of creating technology that would enable individuals to control light, inventing the dimmer switch,” said Nicolla Farry, Specification Sales Supervisor at Lutron Electronics. “For 60 years we have been striving to provide the perfect light to our users. Prismatic provides lighting designers and the design community at large with the ability to manipulate light and experience first-hand the potential of Athena.”
Following the London event, the Prismatic experience will continue in Madrid, Paris, and Milan, starting in April 2022.
