Lumin has unveiled a new high-end music player, the T3. The new streamer is the first Lumin with a DAC featuring the brand’s all-new ‘future-proof’ processing system, capable of greater resampling flexibility.
Partnered with the company’s dual-mono ES9028Pro SABRE DAC platform, the technology provides upsampling and downsampling of every supported digital music format, including MQA, DSD, FLAC and WAV, up to DSD256/PCM384.
The T3’s digital output stage offers USB with native DSD512 support, PCM 44.1–384kHz, 16–32-bit, stereo, and BNC SPDIF handling PCM 44.1kHz–192kHz and 16–24-bit DSD (DoP, DSD over PCM) 2.8MHz, 1-bit. For analogue, the dual-mono signal path extends through a precision output stage featuring technology first seen on Lumin’s flagship X1 streamer. Connectivity comprises XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs.
Available in natural or black anodised aluminium, build quality is similarly impressive, with CNC panelled construction, for upgraded structural rigidity and shielding, milled to a silky finish.
The T3 has native support for TIDAL, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify, Spotify Connect and AirPlay-compatibility,
The player also boasts a LEEDH lossless volume control, which employs an advanced adjustment algorithm said to eliminate rounding errors
The Lumin is available from September, and retails for £4,195. Distribution is via Sound Design Distribution.
