High-end German TV brand Loewe has relaunched in the UK, with the Bild i OLED flatscreen and accompanying audio solutions.
Now under new Skytec ownership, Loewe Technology UK hopes to find a niche with high-spec products that offer a minimalist design and ‘Made in Germany’ ethos. Loewe Technology UK is the only Loewe subsidiary in the world outside of Germany. “This in itself shows how important the UK market is to (Skytec CEO) Aslan (Khabliev) and the rest of the board,” says Managing Director Alan Whyte.
Whyte says he’s keen to talk with custom installers and independent retailers. “We have a compelling business case for you,” he says.
The brand has a storied history, laying claim to inventing the world’s first electronic TV back in 1931, and launching the world’s first ‘smart’ TV in 2008. It’s also been celebrated for its high design over the years.
Available in three sizes, the Loewe Bild i is a 4K OLED model with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It runs the VIDAA operating system, familiar from Hisense models, with integrated streaming services including Netflix and Prime Video.
The brand is also launching two soundbars, the klang bar i and klang bar 5, and partnering subwoofer – klang sub 5, with a similar design aesthetic.
Loewe continues to operate from its factory in Kronach, Germany, where it’s been largely based since the 1940s. Distribution is through Harrods, Selfridges and selected high-end retailers.
