The worlds of high-end home cinema and digital art continue to overlap, with the news that US digital art gallery Blackdove is partnering with LG to deliver NFT artwork directly to the brand’s new Direct View LED Extreme Home Cinema displays.
The collaboration will allow NFT owners to showcase their collections on a gallery grade in-home display, or conversely allow LG Extreme cinema owners to show off their screen with cutting edge digital art. For high-end integrators, this new development points to a completely new client base for premium theatres.
The LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema line ranges from 81 to 325 inches, and 2k to 8k. It uses Micro-LED technology.
This is not the first time LG has worked with Blackdove. The duo have previously partnered to create fine art installations at galleries and art festivals around the world, but this is their first residential endeavour.
LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema owners will have instant access to five NFTs from the Blackdove collection. The pieces were selected by Blackdove curator Jess Conatser to showcase the breadth of styles and subject matter available from the gallery. The NFT capsule collection will cater to a variety of spaces and aesthetics, and includes works by Johnathan McCabe, Franck Lefebvre, and Jamie Scott.
Users can manage their digital art catalogue, including any privately owned NFTs, through the Blackdove app. Blackdove also supplies a hardware media player. Blackdove also has direct integrations with leading home automation software providers, including Control4, Crestron, and Savant.
This NFT collection can be expanded with fine art NFTs available for sale or monthly rental; it also offers a subscription-based access to a cloud-based gallery of over 4,000 pieces. Collectors can commission original works through the gallery. NFTs can be accessed and displayed on any network-connected display worldwide, with NFT blockchain registration and end-to-end encryption.
Blackdove is integrated with the LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema out of the box, with no additional hardware required by the integrators Blackdove is also offering LG dealers complimentary technical support during software and optional subscription setup.
“We want collectors to understand the value of the art form, and we want artists to have access to the best displays possible. To that end, we’ve hand-selected unique, tokenized artworks that celebrate the diverse range of styles and techniques found across new media from both emerging and established artists,” says Conatser. “This partnership with LG will showcase the beauty of digital art, propelling the medium forward and shaping the future of living with digital art as NFTs.”
