The smart home is getting smarter, and the fridge could soon become the hub of your connected ecosystem, suggests LG.
LG will show an expanded second-generation LG Signature lineup of smart home appliances at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. Exhibited under its ‘Live Beyond’ brand theme, the latest LG Signature range promise exceptional integration of cutting-edge AI and sophisticated design, to deliver enhanced usability, and improved connectivity.
The second-generation lineup builds on the Signature minimalist aesthetic, with AI-driven features and intuitive functionality. This new wave of appliances comprises the LG Signature French Door Refrigerator with transparent T-OLED door panel, LG Signature Smart InstaView Over-the-Range Microwave and Slide-in Double Oven Induction Range, LG Signature Dishwasher, and LG Signature Washer Dryer.
The 36-inch Smart InstaView French Door Refrigerator features a fully transparent T-OLED display embedded in the upper right door. This dual-purpose display serves as both a digital touch interface and a Dual InstaView panel, allowing owners to manage the refrigerator and view its contents without opening the door. We’re told it can also display mesmerising hologram-like visuals, blending virtual with real; a fusion of art and high technology. The refrigerator also provides access to a curated music playlist, so you can listen to your favourite tracks when working in the kitchen.
The refrigerator’s ThinQ Food management system and a built-in AI camera elevate convenience, can automatically recognise stored food items, and suggest recipes based on available ingredients. It’ll also tell you when your food is about to expire.
Similarly, the LG Signature Over-the-Range microwave is equipped with three built-in cameras for real-time cooking monitoring and time-lapse creation, capturing meals’ journeys from the oven to the table. The brand’s Slide-in Double Oven Induction Range, powered by Gourmet AI technology, will identify ingredients and provide helpful recipe suggestions.
The new LG Signature microwave features a 27-inch HD touchscreen display with InstaView, built-in speakers and Wi-Fi connectivity. The screen also provides access to the LG ThinQ Smart Home Dashboard, so you can control all LG AI appliances (and compatible Matter and Thread devices) in the home. When paired with the induction range, the microwave’s LCD display also shows the cooking progress of dishes in the range, eliminating the need to bend down and check the oven manually.
The second-gen smart lineup will also take good care of your smalls. The Washer Dryer leverages LG’s Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive 2.0 for precise fabric care, and inverter heat pump technology for low-temperature drying. Each model is equipped with a 7-inch LCD touchscreen.
It’s unclear at this point when we might expect to see the lineup launched in the UK, but we’ll keep you posted.
