LG has announced a significant expansion of its cloud gaming provision, adding 4k support for Nvidia GeForce NOW in 80 territories. The platform has also added the Boosteroid service, and will introduce Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming later this year.

The latest iteration of the webOS offers Game Quick Card access to GeForce NOW, Utomik, Blacknut, and Boosteroid, as well as Twitch and YouTube, along with a more personalised gaming experience using its the Game Optimizer interface, which offers a selection of customisation features and game-genre picture settings.

LG hopes to monopolise the OLED gaming sector. It currently claims a 0.1 millisecond response time and low input lag on its premium screens.

GeForce NOW games stream at 4k 60fps with no additional downloads, installation or hardware required. GeForce Now is also currently available in Full HD at 60fps on LG’s 2020- 2022 TVs that run webOS 5.0 and higher. Support for 4k gaming on GeForce NOW on select 2022 TV models will come later, it says.

4k resolution titles on the Nvidia service include Cyberpunk 2077, No Man’s Sky, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

Boosteroid claim to be the world’s largest independent cloud gaming provider, with four million global users. Existing Boosteroid subscribers can log into their account on LG TVs from 2021 to 2023 (webOS 6.0 and higher). The service offers a broad selection of PC game titles, playble directly from the app.
