LG Display has taken centre stage at this year’s K-Display 2025 exhibition, held at COEX in Seoul, with a sweeping showcase of its latest OLED breakthroughs and next-gen automotive display technologies. Launching today, for three days the event offers custom installers, AV professionals, and technology integrators a rare hands-on look at the company’s roadmap for visual technologies under the theme 'Shaping the Future.'
At the heart of the showcase is LG Display’s Experience Zone, an immersive exhibit designed to present both commercial-ready solutions and future-facing innovations. The highlight here is the OLED Heritage area, which traces the company’s leadership in OLED technology, from a 15-inch prototype from 2009 to this year’s headline-grabbing 83-inch OLED panel using fourth-generation technology.
This new panel is the largest to use Primary RGB Tandem OLED architecture, stacking red, green, and blue layers independently to achieve a peak brightness of 4,000 nits, the brightest ever for an OLED display. A visual comparison with previous-generation panels allows visitors to appreciate the gains in colour fidelity, brightness, and contrast. The reported result is a leap in perceived depth and image realism, of particular note to integrators seeking to deliver premium viewing experiences in custom cinema and luxury residential environments.
LG Display is also debuting a 27-inch OLED monitor panel with a native 540Hz refresh rate, the fastest yet. Leveraging Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) technology, this panel can dynamically scale up to 720Hz at HD resolutions, offering flexibility for high-performance gaming and esports use-cases. Its 99.5% DCI-P3 colour coverage and peak brightness of 1,500 nits make it an appealing proposition for content creators and pro-gaming setups alike.
Also on show is a 45-inch 5K2K OLED panel, which offers the highest resolution currently available in the OLED monitor category. Visitors can try out gaming content on the panel, gaining direct insight into how refresh rate and resolution impact gameplay, a useful demonstration targeting high-end gaming and workstation installations.
K-Display 2025 also sees LG Display pushing into next-gen mobility with a conceptual auto cockpit that merges comfort with autonomous-ready technologies. At its core is a 57-inch Pillar-to-Pillar LCD display, the largest automotive screen currently available, designed to serve both driver and passenger needs with a seamless curved interface.
Complementing this are a series of advanced automotive panels, including:
32.6-inch Slidable OLED that retracts downward when not in use, offering display flexibility within limited cabin space.
29-inch Ultra-Bright Outdoor LCD, engineered for external communication and vehicle-to-environment signalling.
47.8-inch LTPS LCD with Switchable Privacy Mode, which prevents the passenger’s screen from being seen by the driver, a potential asset in luxury and executive transport.
World-first Stretchable Display Jog Dial, which morphs into a tactile interface when needed, showcasing new possibilities in vehicle UX design.
14-inch Tandem ATO OLED, a lightweight, power-efficient panel using LG Display’s tandem structure and single-glass design for smart cockpit applications.
14.5-inch Oxide TFT LCD, optimised for low power consumption, an important consideration as AI-driven in-vehicle systems become more demanding.
LG Display’s showing at K-Display 2025 is a clear indication of its ambition to remain at the forefront of OLED and mobility-focused display development. Speaking at the event, a company spokesperson stated: “The LG Display-led technological evolution of OLED is changing the paradigm of displays. We will secure sustainable technological competitiveness and provide differentiated customer value by not only bringing commercial technologies to maturity but also solidly preparing R&D capabilities for future technologies.”
For custom installers and Pro AV professionals, the breadth of LG Display’s innovations, from ultra-bright OLED TVs and gaming panels to reconfigurable automotive displays, offers a glimpse into the integrated display environments of tomorrow.
