LG has unveiled two new CineBeam 4k HDR projectors, the HU715Q and HU710P. The former is an Ultra Short Throw model, a new entrant into the nascent Laser TV market. It needs to be placed just 21.7cm from a wall to cast a 100-inch image. A Kvadrat fabric cover helps harmonise with home furnishings and interiors.

The more conventional HU710P has a 2.9-4.6m throw with a 1.6 zoom, and utilises a Hybrid Laser and LED light source.

Both offer three HDMI inputs with eARC and two USB ports and have a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. To aid installation there’s keystone correction with 4-, 9- and 15-point warping, enabling integrators to adjust horizontal and vertical alignment for flexible placement.

The HU715Q is rated at 2,500 ANSI lumens brightness, while the HU710P boasts 2,000 ANSI lumens of brightness. Both are rated for 20,000 hours of use.

This new CineBeam duo feature a number of picture improvement technologies, including a Brightness Optimiser which makes adjustments according to ambient light conditions; Dynamic Tone Mapping, which analyses and fine tunes each frame to support HDR handling, and Filmmaker Mode, the uniform image preset designed to display movies the way their directors intended them to be seen.

Smart functionality comes via LG’s webOS platform, which offers access to a number of leading streaming services, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube and Apple TV.

The LG HU715Q has an onboard sound system, featuring four woofers and 2.2-channel stereo. Surround sound can be added when connected to one or two Bluetooth speakers.

LG CineBeam 4K laser projector models HU715Q and HU710P will be available in the first quarter of 2022.
