US loudspeaker specialist Klipsch has announced a quartet of subwoofers designed to partner its Reference Premiere speaker line. The new Klipsch Reference Premiere series subwoofers are available in models rated from 600W to 1600W, to suit various room sizes and installations. The on-board amplifier features an analogue preamp design with high efficiency Class D output stage.
The Klipsch Reference Premiere series subwoofer range comprises the RP-1600SW, with a 16-inch woofer and 1600W peak power, the RP-1400SW with14-inch woofer and1000W of peak power (pictured top), the RP-1200SW with 12-inch woofer and 800W peak power and the RP-1000SW, with10-inch woofer and 600W power plant.
They are priced at £1,849, £1,399, £1,099 and £899 respectively.
All models feature a distinctive front-firing spun copper Cerametallic woofer, known for its low-frequency response and minimal distortion. The exterior wrap is scratch-resistant ebony vinyl, with rounded corners, shock-absorbing rubber feet, steel grille posts and a woven cloth grille.
All models sport a new Aerofoil slot port design said to minimise port noise. RCA and WA-2 wireless inputs can be used simultaneously, allowing integrators to partner a single subwoofer to multiple speaker systems in a room.
The Klipsch Reference Premiere subwoofers line will land in the UK during March and April 2023. Distribution is via Henley Audio.
