KLH Audio is expanding its Model Collection with the introduction of the Model Four, a new three-way acoustic suspension loudspeaker for smaller living spaces.
Unveiled at High End Vienna 2026, the new floorstander sits between the existing Model Three and Model Five models, combining a relatively slim footprint with the company’s long-standing focus on controlled, room-friendly acoustics.
The Model Four borrows much from the Model Five, and repackages it into a shallower, placement-friendly enclosurel. It uses the same midrange driver, tweeter and crossover architecture, while incorporating the 8-inch woofer first introduced in the compact Model Three.
The cabinet employs a wide front baffle and notably shallow cabinet depth. Including its supplied six-degree slanted riser, it extends less than 28cm from front to back.
Like other speakers in KLH’s revived range, it uses an acoustic suspension design rather than a ported enclosure, for tighter, more controlled bass performance.
Inside the structurally reinforced MDF cabinet is a three-way driver array comprising an 8-inch pulp-paper cone woofer, a 4-inch pulp-paper midrange driver and a 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter. Frequency response is rated at 46Hz to 20kHz, with low-frequency extension reaching 35Hz at -10dB. In-room sensitivity is quoted at 88dB, while maximum SPL is specified at 108dB.
KLH has also retained its long-running Acoustic Balance Control system, first introduced in the 1960s. The three-position adjustment switch allows installers and end users to tailor mid and high-frequency balance to suit room acoustics and placement conditions.
Scott Hagen, CEO of KLH Audio, described the speaker as a continuation of the company’s effort to modernise classic acoustic suspension principles for contemporary homes.
“Model Four represents exactly where KLH is headed: honouring the acoustic principles that made this brand stand out while designing products for how people actually live and listen today,” he said.
Visually, the speaker continues KLH’s mid-century modern aesthetic. Finishes include English Walnut with a Stonewash Knit grille, Black Ash with Grey Knit grille and White Oak with Black Knit grille. A magnetic grille and matte black riser base are included.
The KLH Model Four will be available from September 2026 , priced at £899 per speaker, including riser stands.
