KEF has announced a new, more affordable, addition to its LS Wireless speaker collection. The Bluetooth LSX II LT is described as a streamlined version of the brand’s popular LSX II speakers, and is designed for multimedia use - music, movies and games.

The new model allows users to stream from the likes of Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, or switch to hardwired sources. There’s also support for DSD and PCM up to 24bit/384kHz, Apple Airplay 2 and Google Chromecast.

Fronting each LSX II LT is KEF’s 11th generation Uni-Q driver array, while a Music Integrity Engine promises 'a perfectly timed performance'. Output is split, with 70W going to the low frequency drivers and 30W powering the highs.

Connectivity includes HDMI ARC, USB-C and optical digital audio. There’s also a dedicated bass output to connect a compact KEF subwoofer, if required.

To simplify installation, the LSX II LT only requires a single power cord, as the primary speaker powers the secondary one via the interspeaker cable. It comes with neat mounting inserts for secure placement on the P1 desk pad and S1 floor stand.

Additionally, LSX II LT is compatible with the optional C-Link interspeaker cable, made with high-tenacity fabric for enhanced durability and protection. At 8 metres, the C-Link cable offers 5 metres more flexibility than the supplied cable, providing greater freedom when it comes to placement.

The KEF Connect app and powerful EQ DSP can be used to quickly adjust the sound to allow the LSX II LT to best suit any room, users will be walked through the set-up and the

The slick aesthetics are the work of industrial designer Michael Young. The model is available in Graphite Grey, Stone White and Sage Green.

The KEF LSX II LT retails for £899 per system, while the 8m C-Link Interspeaker Cable sells for £50.
