The all-new KEF LSX II is a second generation wireless active audio system that combines wide wireless streaming support, real-world connectivity and premium design.
The new line builds on the original award-winning LS50 Wireless II, by adding HDMI and USB-C options, making it a strong contender for media room applications.
Available in five colour finishes, the LSX II uses a bespoke version of KEF’s 11th generation Uni-Q driver array. This familiar technology acts as a point source, where the tweeter is placed at the acoustic centre of the woofer, effectively opening up the soundstage from the traditional sweet spot.
Total output is rated at 200 Watts, with the tweeter and woofer powered by their own dedicated amplifier. The system also uses Kef’s Music Integrity Engine, optimised for the Uni-Q driver.
Using the KEF Connect app, users can stream Amazon Music, Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer, Internet Radio stations and podcasts. There’s also compatibility with Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast; with Bluetooth you can utilise native apps to stream directly from Spotify Connect, Tidal and QPlay. The system is Roon Ready too.
The LSX II will also stream from a compatible NAS drive or music server, with file support up to 24bit/384kHz (PCM), DSD, and full MQA rendering.
Installation is aided by the KEF Connect app, which offers Room EQ DSP. 'Normal' mode talks you through the process. For integration of a KEF subwoofer, Room EQ includes subwoofer pre-sets for the best possible system performance.
There’s a choice of S1 floor stand or flexible positioning using the P1 desk pad or B1 wall bracket.
The KEF LSX II retails for £1,199, and is available now.
