Ohio based audio outfit SVS is introducing a second generation of its wireless Prime smart speakers, and distributor Karma-AV has got them.

The new Prime Wireless Pro system comprises a pair of powered DTS Play-Fi compatible speakers, with 200W of amplification and 192KHz/24-bit DAC.

The system can stream hi-res audio over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, or via Airplay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect. Typical uses would see the system serve as a TV audio upgrade, a desktop gaming setup, or multiroom music solution.

Each wireless bookshelf speaker delivers 50W of to a 5.25-inch mid-bass driver and 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter. Connectivity includes HDMI with eARC, analogue in, digital optical audio input Ethernet. There’s also a subwoofer output, if required.

Streaming services available through the Play-Fi app include Amazon Music, Qobuz, iHeart, Pandora, YouTube, Sirius XM, Tidal, Pandora and Audible. The app can also be used to access a media server or manage the new SVS Prime pair as part of a multiroom whole home audio system.

A standard IR remote is included, but the system can also work with Amazon Alexa or Google voice assistant.

Other niceties include a front panel OLED interface for source, artist name, song title, input and volume settings. Six presets can be used for sources, playlists and streaming services.

The IR remote handset controls all the most critical functions and provides direct input buttons for HDMI, Bluetooth, Optical and Line-In for easy switching between sources.

The SVS Prime Wireless Pro powered speaker system is finished in hand-applied Piano Gloss Black or Piano Gloss White, and has a retail price of £899.
