Acoustic specialist, Jocavi, has been showcasing a line of prefabricated Soundspace Pro modular listening rooms at this year’s AES Show in New York. The rooms blend precision soundproofing with cutting-edge design, and are aimed at both audio professionals and audiophiles. Typical assembly is said to take 6 days
Soundspace Pro walls and ceilings are constructed using a combination of PVC and GRP, and a bovine skin agglomerate; the result is a system that’s not only lightweight, but highly robust. The shell of the room decoupled using Studio Float IsoRafts. Soundproofing ranges from 46db to 74db reinforcement.
The rooms can be used for either for permanent or temporary recording spaces, or high-end listening rooms. Soundspace Pro’s acoustic modular soundproofing planks can be disassembled and reassembled easily, when you need to move.
The latest Jocavi designs are configured to make the most of Dolby Atmos, with a unique acoustic treatment said to enlarge the listening sweet spot, for larger audiences.
For 3D audio Jocavi has developed the CerAtmos Spherical 3D diffuser. These baffles, positioned on ceilings, are designed to prevent sound wave interference.
Dave Malekpour, of distributor PAD Group, said: “The development of Jocavi’s new home Soundspace Pro will allow us to create predictable results in any existing room. The process is super easy and can be installed within a week, which will be music to the ears of many of our clients. Not only that, but thanks to Malekpour Design Partners, clients can also customise the interior finishes to match the vision they have for their room and complement any existing design themes throughout their facilities.”
