Smart home software specialist Janus Technology has agreed a strategic partnership with home automation designer and manufacturer, Polar Bear Design. The collaboration will see the two companies working together to offer integrators, M&E consultants and property developers integrated environmental control and energy management solutions, without requiring the specification or installation of a full Building Management System (BMS).
Richard Caton, Managing Director at Janus Technology, said: “Our joint approach will make it easier for clients, consultants and integrators to bring advanced building control into their projects as well as seamlessly integrate with audio-visual and lighting control systems on a development.”
Upcoming solutions will provide data collection for energy monitoring, HVAC control and visualisation of building performance, he adds. Caton also promises cost and time saving for clients.
As part of this agreement, Janus Technology will supply the Zentium Pro Thermostat from Polar Bear to its customer base. This dual zone thermostat allows control over heating and cooling via its simple digital crown. The thermostat can be used as a stand-alone device or coupled with a Control4 system to provide HVAC control, without the need for additional building control technology. It supports direct control of complex 2-pipe and other air-conditioning systems.
The Zentium Pro Thermostat can also be integrated with intelligent lighting control keypads, such as, Lutron or Crestron for a premium quality in-room keypad finish.
