The Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2024 trade show, hosted at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía, appears to have left an indelible mark on the professional AV industry, based on a slew of data released by the organisers.
The numbers speak volumes about the success of ISE 2024. A staggering 73,891 verified attendees from 162 countries converged in Barcelona, showcasing the event's global appeal. A noteworthy 33.6% of attendees (24,815 individuals) experienced ISE for the first time, with almost half of these newcomers hailing from Spain.
Over the course of the four days, a total of 172,627 visits were recorded, averaging 2.2 days per attendee—an indication of the immersive and engaging experience offered by ISE 2024. The daily attendance records shattered previous figures, underlining the event's growing significance in the AV industry.
The composition of attendees mirrored the diverse facets of the AV industry. More than 80% of participants hailed from the commercial sector, with significant representation from the residential sector. CEOs, C-suite executives, and directors formed a substantial portion of the attendee base.
A striking revelation was that 4 out of 5 visitors played a pivotal role in the purchasing decision-making process—either making the final decision, influencing it, or providing recommendations. The gender diversity of attendees also saw an encouraging increase, with 16.6% identifying as female and 1.9% as non-binary or choosing not to specify.
ISE 2024 showcased its international allure by attracting attendees from 162 countries. Notably, major AV market territories, including Germany, Belgium, Poland, and China, witnessed a significant surge in participation. Over 90% of the total attendance was concentrated in the top 30 countries represented at the event.
End-users, constituting 30% of ISE 2024 attendees, marked a distinctive presence, with almost 60% being first-time attendees. Their focus spanned various sectors, including auditoriums, entertainment venues, audio/video production rooms, corporate offices, classrooms, and sports arenas.
The remaining 70% of attendees, representing the AV channel, were deeply involved in AV integration, distribution, IT integration, manufacturing, and rental/staging/live events. This diverse mix emphasised the comprehensive nature of ISE 2024.
A total of 363 expert speakers enriched ISE 2024 with a comprehensive program of conferences, presentations, and panel discussions. Produced by AVIXA and CEDIA, the conference covered key vertical markets, offering insights into content production, control rooms, digital signage, live events, smart buildings, and smart home technology.
The impact of ISE 2024 extended beyond the venue, with 634 international media representatives from 36 countries covering the event. A staggering 13,658 online editorial articles in a three-week period showcased the event's significance, with Tier 1 media contributing 612 online articles, 79 print articles, 70 radio features, and 53 TV features.
Social media played a pivotal role, with 4,707 posts using the hashtag #ISE2024 generating 867,455 impressions and a potential reach of 10.94 million during the event week.
As the industry reflects on ISE 2024, attention turns to the future with anticipation for ISE 2025. Scheduled for February 4-72025 in Barcelona, the next iteration promises to surpass its predecessor. Already, there is a 10% increase in exhibitors re-booking booths, leading to the expansion of availability into Hall 8.1.
