The Russ Andrews Clarity Pro 2.0 is the latest iteration of the brand’s field generator that utilises Coherence Technology to improve the performance of hi-fi and home cinema systems.

This diminutive box is designed to reduce noise and stray electromagnetic fields to benefit musical presentation from the audio system, and has been developed in conjunction with the US based inventors of the technology.

The new circuit developed for the 2.0 version is said to be the result of extensive testing between the two companies, refining and fine-tuning the circuit for optimised performance.

The Clarity Pro 2.0, which ships in a purpose designed ABS case, should be positioned as close as possible to the hi-fi system, on a spare shelf on the rack or ideally on top of components. A single control knob on the front of the unit can be used to adjust the strength of the effect. The Coherence Technology modules generate a pre-programmed field of a specific pattern and duration, with the adjustment controlling its strength. Tuning is done by ear and the result will be correct when the music snaps into focus and sounds ‘right’, explains the brand.

The inventors of the technology claim that the field generator increases the coherence of the ground plane to neutralise noise caused by discrepancies of time and amplitude on the ground. The result is said to be an audible improvement in performance quality.

Russ Andrews, technical director, comments, “It is a major improvement on the already amazing Clarity Pro, providing a calmer atmosphere, which makes the music more relaxing and enjoyable. The improvements in musicality, rhythm and timing were considerable and it also had the effect of making previously ‘fierce’ recordings sound less harsh and easier to listen to.”

The Clarity Pro 2.0 retails for £1,495. It can be supplied with a Russ Andews designed Supplier DC power supply for £1,944
