Sonos formally introduced its Amp Multi multi-zone amplifier to UK integrators, at a London preview event, hosted by UK distributor Habitech.
A series of half-day sessions combined live demonstrations with technical training, designed to give attendees a better understanding of the product’s capabilities and intended applications.
Unlike Sonos consumer products, Amp Multi has been developed specifically for the CI sector, extending the familiar Sonos ecosystem into more complex, multi-room audio deployments.
The London sessions were hosted by Stephen Rhead and Zanis Mantarikis, the latter having been closely involved in the product’s development.
Not only did the event provide a deep dive into its design, scalability and integration, it aalso served as a forum for early feedback. Sonos is clearly leaving nothing to chance before the Amp Mult’s rollout.
Amp Multi is designed to simplify multi-zone audio while maintaining the familiar Sonos user experience. It offers a more compact and thermally efficient alternative to multiple individual amplifiers, and rigs that blend Sonos streaming devices with third-party amplification.
One of its key attributes is flexible, assignable speaker outputs, allowing easy configuration of zones to match project requirements. It’s suitable for a variety of residential scenarios, from single-room expansions to whole-home audio systems.
The provision of Sonos’ ProTune parametric EQ also provides greater control over system tuning, enabling users to tailor performance to room acoustics and speaker characteristics.
Zone management features enhance usability, particularly in larger properties.
Of course, Amp Multi also retains established Sonos platform features, including alarm and sleep functions. For AV pros already working with Sonos, this continuity should reduce any setup complexity.
While there’s no confirmed official UK pricing for Amp Multi, the unit is expected to ship through authorised Sonos installation partners later in 2026.
