Integra unveils flagship AV receiver with CI tools built in

Integra has announced a high-end AV receiver specified with CI installers in mind. Compatible with remote monitoring platforms to help manage, configure, and troubleshoot, the DRX-8.4 is an 11.4 150-watt-per-channel heavyweight designed to satisfy the most demanding of AV enthusiasts.

IP control, web setup from a browser, and onboard HDMI diagnostics make installing and managing this Integra AVR more versatile than most. An onboard diagnostics tool kit includes test patterns and EDID/HDCP adjustment.

The DRX-8.4 also comes with wireless Dirac Live room calibration Full Version, plus an optional upgrade for Dirac Live Bass Control Multi Subwoofer, which uses machine learning techniques and AI to determine ideal settings for any speaker layout.

The THX certified receiver also boasts HDMI 2.1 with 8k support, and integrated Bluetooth transmitters with aptX for sharing audio to Bluetooth headphones. It has a total of seven HDMI Inputs, with three outputs. Six inputs support 8K/60 and 4K/120 (40Gbps), with eARC.

There are 11.4 ch preouts (with two independent sub outs), XLR preouts for L/C/R/SW1/SW2, and a pair of XLR stereo outputs.

The AVR works with Alexa and Google voice assistants, and has Roon Ready certification for users with high-resolution music libraries. Chromecast is built-in, as is Airplay 2 support. The receiver is Sonos Certified

When it comes to build quality, the DRX-8.4 employs extruded anti-resonant aluminium heat sinks and high-grade capacitors. Beneath the lid are 32-bit ESS Sabre DACs, an all-new Integra symmetric class AB amplifier design, and reworked audio signal path.

The Integra DRX-8.4 is the latest in the DRX series of Integra AVRs, first introduced in 2021.
