Portable audio has just received an upgrade. Southport based Hi-Fi specialist iFi Audio has introduced the GO link Max, a DAC dongle with up to 241mW of output power, and both 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm S-balanced ports.
Able to drive even demanding headphones, courtesy of a balanced Dual ES9219 DAC setup, hi-res audio support stretches to PCM 384kHz and DSD 256.
The gadget may be small, but there’s a lot of tech at play here. Advanced THD Compensation technology is employed to minimise total harmonic distortion, while Time Domain Jitter Elimination combat timing errors, and enhance clarity.
We’re also told that Dynamic Range Enhancement (DRE) is used to boost dynamic range by an additional +6dB. The GO link Max uses a hardware-based volume control, to ensure volume adjustment does not result in any loss of detail.
The iFi GO link Max sells for £79 ($79 / €79).
