The Meridian DSP8000 digital active loudspeaker has been inducted into the CEDIA Smart Home Awards Hall of Fame. First introduced in 2000, this groundbreaking loudspeaker continues to set the bar in sonic sophistication, and is renowned for its clarity and dynamics.
The CEDIA Product Hall of Fame recognises those products that have made a substantial, positive impact on the custom install industry, and entered the market a minimum of seven years ago.
The judging criteria includes assessing the product's intended purpose, functionality, uniqueness, as well as its broader influence.
Always designed to be a modular, upgradeable engineering platform, the DSP8000 continues to be the subject of research and development for the UK Hi-Fi specialist, which has led to several free-of-charge software upgrades and chargeable hardware improvements since its introduction. The recently launched DSP8000 (XE version) is the flagship in Meridian’s award-winning range of loudspeakers.
Finding favour in both high-end two-channel audio systems, as well as premium theatres, the DSP8000’s digital active system design enabled Meridian to offer installers various audio adjustments designed to solve real-world problems related to speaker placement and room conditions in their projects.
User controls further extended the loudspeaker’s flexibility in a wide range of applications.
