Japanese Hi-Fi brand Rotel is moving European distribution of its Rotel and Michi products to Fine Sounds Europe.
The exclusive distribution partnership covers France, Monaco, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
The new agreement is part of an overall company strategy to move Rotel and Michi branded products into higher market segments, as evidenced by its high-end 60th Anniversary Rotel Diamond and Michi Series 2 models.
The Diamond Series includes the DT-6000 DAC Transport and RA-6000 integrated amplifier, each sharing a new industrial design language said to pay tribute to the brand’s iconic heritage, while still looking contemporary.
It says it will also move both brands into more premium, limited distribution channels, including specialist dealers and value added retail partners.
From the company’s establishment in Tokyo, Japan in 1961, by founder Tomoki Tachikawa, Rotel has been celebrated for its exceptional audio performance. Today it remains under the direction and management of Tachikawa San’s family.
Rotel has enjoyed recent success in North America and Central / Latin America with Fine Sounds Europe’s sister company Fine Sounds Americas.
Commenting on the new distribution strategy Peter Kao, Managing Director of Rotel, says: “Rotel takes a serious and considered approach selecting our channel and business partners. This is reflected in our relationships with our distribution partnerships many of which span multi-decades and multi-generations.’.
Commenting on behalf of Fine Sounds Europe Lionel Nunney, Fine Sounds Director said: “It is rare to be able to partner with such a long-established brand that has enjoyed an incredibly consistent and broad reputation for exceptional product quality over decades. The company has a clear vision of how they want to develop the Rotel and Michi brands and how they would like to be positioned in the market and that strategy sits very comfortable with our efforts and approach our own brands. We are delighted to have Rotel and Michi as part of our family”.
