The National Homebuilding & Renovating Show, which runs March 19-22 March, at the NEC, Birmingham, is reporting a big increase in the number of smart home and AV focused companies exhibiting.

Over the course of four days, more than 24,000 homebuilders, renovators, investors and trade professionals are expected to visit the NEC.

For the custom installation industry, the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show opens up a huge potential audience for purveyors of smart home tech. It's an opportunity for CI professionals to explain and demonstrate the benefits of smart home technology to a pre-qualified audience.

Michael Holmes, property expert and director of content for Homebuilding & Renovating, says, “We are delighted to see an increase in the number of home technology businesses at the show this year. It is such an important part of home building and renovating planning today and we are sure the returning and new exhibitors will benefit from the chance to educate the public on the tangible benefits of incorporating smart home systems into new builds and renovation projects.”

The continued rise of remote and hybrid working are two key areas that will be under the spotlight at the show.

Holmes adds, “We’re seeing a fundamental shift in how homes are being designed and delivered. and this is being driven by remote working, evolving family dynamics and rising demand for flexible living. This is fuelling strong growth in higher-value, more technologically involved renovation projects, leading an increasing number of homeowners to source technology solution providers for of the build.”
