Hisense has unveiled its most comprehensive Mini-LED TV line-up to date, with the introduction of the U7Q, U7Q Pro, and U8Q series. Promising premium picture quality, immersive audio, and advanced smart functionality, the new screens employ updated Mini-LED backlighting, advanced local dimming zones, AI-driven processing, and full support for Freely, the hybrid streaming platform backed by the UK’s major public service broadcasters.
The entry point into the 2025 Mini-LED collection is the Hisense U7Q, which represents a significant step up from the outgoing U6N series. Featuring Quantum Dot technology and a native 144Hz panel (165Hz on the 100-inch model), the U7Q combines broad compatibility with gaming features such as FreeSync Premium, VRR (48–144Hz), and ALLM.
With brightness peaking at 1000 nits and up to 600+ local dimming zones, the U7Q supports HDR10+ Adaptive, Dolby Vision IQ and Filmmaker Mode. Hisense’s Hi-View AI Engine handles real-time scene optimisation, improving contrast and sharpness across SDR and HDR content.
For audio, the U7Q incorporates a 2.1 channel speaker system with a built-in subwoofer, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Virtual:X, offering custom installers an appealing all-in-one AV solution with minimal need for external sound reinforcement.
Key integration highlights include hands-free voice control, central pedestal design, and the latest VIDAA U9 platform with support for Freely, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and more.
Available sizes and pricing (UK RRP): 50-inch £999; 55-inch £1,299; 65-inch £1,599; 75-inch £1,899; 85-inch £2,799; 100-inch £4,599.
Positioned for more demanding viewers, the U7Q Pro improves on the standard U7Q by upgrading to Mini-LED PRO backlighting and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. Local dimming zones increase to 1000+, delivering improved contrast precision in bright and dark scenes.
The model retains Quantum Dot Colour and adds Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro, which adjusts brightness and contrast dynamically across different areas of the screen. The Hi-View Engine PRO enhances image quality further by analysing content and ambient conditions in real time. Reflection handling is bolstered by Anti-Reflection technology.
For gaming clients, the U7Q Pro supports a full 165Hz refresh rate, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and an on-screen Game Bar interface. It’s FreeSync Premium Pro certified and designed for low-latency, high-response play. Audio upgrades include a 2.1.2 channel speaker system with Dolby Atmos and subwoofer integration.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E, and Hisense has included an eco-friendly solar-powered remote as standard.
Available sizes and pricing (UK RRP): 55-inch £1,499; 65-inch £1,799; 75-inch £2,099; 85-inch £2,999; 100-inch £4,799.
Sitting at the top of the range, the Hisense U8Q is a showcase for the brand’s most advanced AV technologies. Using next-generation Mini-LED HDR5000 backlighting with up to 6000+ local dimming zones, the U8Q delivers an exceptionally bright and contrast-rich image, tailored for large living spaces and media rooms.
The flagship panel supports 4K at 165Hz and is paired with the Hi-View AI Engine PRO for deep learning picture optimisation. HDR support spans Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ Adaptive and Gaming. Filmmaker Mode and IMAX Enhanced certification round out the feature set for home cinema installations.
A major differentiator is the U8Q’s 4.1.2 speaker configuration, which includes powerful integrated subwoofers and support for Dolby Atmos. The chassis design incorporates double side-firing audio for immersive room-filling sound — notable for builds where external sound systems may be impractical.
Gamers are well-served with VRR (48–165Hz), FreeSync Premium Pro, ALLM, and a DisplayPort input, expanding compatibility with PC setups and gaming consoles.
The design features ultra-thin bezels and a reduced panel thickness (45mm on all sizes except the 100-inch model), making it an attractive centrepiece for custom AV installs.
Available sizes and pricing (UK RRP): 55-inch £1,799; 65-inch £2,199; 75-inch £2,799; 85-inch £3,599; 100-inch £5,299.
Hisense’s 2025 Mini-LED TV portfolio offers a clearly tiered range. The U7Q provides a balanced entry into high-performance 4K Mini-LED, the U7Q Pro adds enhanced brightness and gaming features, and the U8Q caters to discerning home cinema and gaming environments with flagship display and audio technology.
All three models feature native support for Freely, removing the need for aerial or satellite infrastructure, a key consideration for media room installations.
With competitive pricing, integrated high-performance audio, and robust smart platforms, we rate Hisense’s 2025 Mini-LED range a compelling proposition for integrators seeking flexible solutions with mass-market appeal.
