Ultra large televisions are gaining traction, with buyers now ready to embrace 97-inch and larger screen sizes, and Hisense is playing a leading role.
New data from market research institute Counterpoint Research reveals the overall high-end TV market enjoyed a 51 per cent year-on-year shipment volume in the global marketplace, in Q3. Hisense, which is pursuing an aggressive premium screen strategy, now ranks second with a third-quarter global high-end TV market share of 24 per cent.
The shipment volume of Mini LED TVs recorded a 102 per cent year-on-year increase, surpassing the shipment volume of OLED TV’s.
Hisense has also been a leading proponent of Ultra Short Throw, Laser TV projectors, with price points in the range of £1,999 - £5,000.
Hisense, named the World’s No.1 in the 100-inch TV market by Omdia, recently partnered with hit games title Black Myth: Wukong, becoming the game’s official TV partner, and delivering customised gaming modes. The company recently announced Xbox certification.
Hisense has also significantly raised its brand visibility and product high-end offerings in sponsoring global sporting events such as partnership with FlFA Club World Cup 2025.
At a 100-inch TV showcase event in London, the company declared that it had maintained its position as the fastest growing major TV brand in the UK, recording its strongest growth in the 65-inch Plus category.
At the event, Hisense also previewed its ultra bright 110-inch UX Mini LED TV, which looked suitably spectacular.
Currently Germany and Italy are the biggest market for super-size TVs, but the UK is following closely. Hisense launched 100-inch screens into EU markets, earlier than the UK, to tie in with Euro 2024, which it says impacted the market. Its prediction is for FY25 volumes in the UK to exceed those of Germany in FY24.
Commenting on the Omdia recognition, Rob Andrews, Head of Strategy and Go-To-Marketing at Hisense UK said “Being recognised as the World’s No.1 in the 100-inch TV market is an incredible accolade. At Hisense, we’re dedicated to ensuring we deliver high-quality, innovative products, and we’re extremely pleased that this has been recognised. The 100-inch TV marks a breakthrough moment for home-entertainment, with this recognition demonstrating Hisense’s dedication to delivering high-quality, cutting-edge innovation.”
