Hisense is entering the lifestyle TV market with Canvas, a design-forward 55-inch TV able to double as a digital art display, courtesy of its built-in Art Mode, when not streaming the latest Netflix hit show.

Utilising snap on gallery-style bezels, buyers can integrate their Canvas TV into any living space. It comes with a teak effect frame that snaps around the TV. Users can further customise their space by purchasing additional coloured frames in walnut and white, as well as various styles including premium metal bezels, to blend in with home décor.

The screen also features a Hi-Matte display with a low reflection coating, to better mimic the texture and depth of a real painting. With its built in Art Mode, viewers can showcase high-quality artwork or personal photos.

The 4K display is built around QLED panel, and utilises an ambient light sensor that adjusts the screen’s brightness based on the surrounding conditions.

Gamers haven’t been forgotten. There’s a 144Hz refresh rate for PC gameplay, as well as 4K 120Hz console support. The audio configuration is described as 2.0.2, bolstered by DTS Virtual X processing.

As we’d expect of Hisense, the Canvas TV uses the VIDAA smart platform which provides access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ Amazon Prime Video and YouTube. It also comes with Freely, which allows the set to stream mainstream linear channels over Wi-Fi, no aerial required.

“At Hisense, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation, and the Canvas TV represents a major step forward in merging cutting-edge technology with home aesthetics,” says Arun Bhatoye, Head of Marketing at Hisense UK.

The Canvas TV is available now and retails for £1,299.
