Hisense has launched a new short throw 4k DLP laser projector, the C2 Ultra. Utilising a tri-color laser light engine, the model hopes to appeal to gamers with a dedicated Game setting, a refresh rate of up to 240 frames per second and an Auto-Low Latency Mode.

Brightness is rated at 3000 ANSI lumens, suitable for use in rooms with some level of ambient light. Throw distance is quoted at 2.2 m - 6.0 m. Connectivity includes two HDMIs.

For movie lovers, the model supports Dolby Vision, has IMAX Enhanced certification, and employs MEMC motion interpolation. A wide colour gamut covers 110 per cent of BT.2020.

Installation is described as ‘a breeze’, thanks to its versatile gimbal stand design, which allows the projector to be pointed at walls or ceilings; auto keystone correction and auto focus ensure minimal set-up is required.

The projector has a built-in 2x10W sound system designed by JBL. DTS Virtual:X processing and integrated subwoofer provide a wide, immersive soundstage.

Matthew Glynn, Go-To-Market Product Marketing Manager for Hisense UK, says “The C2 Ultra is a true testament to Hisense’s commitment to own the laser projector space and we’re constantly finding ways to ensure our technology is continuously improving. Perfect for movie lovers and gamers alike, this model offers an unparalleled viewing experience, combining cutting-edge technology with superior performance to deliver vibrant visuals and immersive entertainment.”

The Hisense C2 Ultra retails for £2,499 ($2,999).
