High-end Operly Intelligence III speakers make UK debut

High-end German speaker manufacturer Operly has entered the UK, with the launch of its flagship Intelligence III horn-loaded speakers.

These audiophile floorstanders combine striking design with innovative driver technologies.

The Operly Intelligence III’s monocoque body is constructed from high grade fibreglass. Formed in a vacuum for maximum strength, they maintain a uniform thickness of 15mm along the entire length of the backward horn.

The driver features a short coil with small diameter and high gap, to achieve uniformity of the magnetic field and maximum fidelity. A patented full-range horn system eliminates all connections between the forward and backward horns, allowing the front horn to be perfectly mated to the speaker diaphragm.

A three-point support allows installers to ensure stable placement on uneven surfaces; the product’s centre of gravity is such that pressure is evenly distributed between the feet. The depth and width dimensions are apparently chosen to correspond to a person sitting in an office chair whilst taking up minimal space in a room.

The backward horn is angled so that the convergence of the front and back horns is at a distance of 2.7 metres, deemed to be the start of the comfortable listening zone. To eliminate standing waves, the sides of the horn are angled to each other to avoid parallel surfaces. Nominal Impedance is 6 ohms, recommended amplifier power is 3 – 20 watts.

The Operly Intelligence III is available in an assortment of finishes. Prospective customers can specify colours upon order. The Operly Intelligence III is a fully customisable statement speaker that can be tailored to complement any interior design or existing HiFi setup.
