Fyne Audio has introduced the F701SP, the first Special Production model in its F700 series, designed to bring advanced engineering from the brand’s flagship F1 series into a compact standmount form factor.

Hand-built at Fyne’s new Glasgow facility, the F701SP builds on the foundation of the original F701 with enhanced technology and a fresh aesthetic.

Since its founding in 2017, Fyne Audio has established itself as a prominent name in high-performance loudspeakers. The F701SP reflects the company’s focus on combining technical expertise with contemporary design, introducing several upgrades aimed at enhancing sound quality and usability.

Elements trickled down from the high-end F1 Series include the point source IsoFlare driver and BassTrax porting system, alongside premium materials and construction techniques. The 200mm driver, derived from the F1-8, combines a multi-fibre bass/midrange cone and a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter.

The crossover benefits from Deep Cryogenic Treatment, said to enhance signal transmission and reliability. Cabling from Neotech and WBT terminals are used to further ensure fidelity. A downward-firing port and Tractrix diffuser smooth out low-frequency integration, offering integrators some flexibility when it comes to placement.

According to provided specifications, the loudspeaker offers 360W power handling and a sensitivity rating of 91dB, so it should cater for a wide range of listening environments and systems.

According to Max Maud, Fyne Audio’s Sales Director, the F701SP was developed in response to customer interest in a design that bridges the performance of the F1-8 with the aesthetics of the F700 series.

"The F1-8 and F701 are our most successful stand-mount loudspeakers since the company launched in 2017. Customers have been asking for a model closer to the F1-8 in performance yet retaining the F701's smooth, contemporary design language. We set our head of Design, Dr Paul Mills, to seamlessly merge our F1-8 technology and performance with F701 architecture to create the F701SP."

The cabinet design maintains the modern, understated aesthetic of the F700 series, with the addition of a new satin Natural Walnut veneer finish. Existing options in Piano Gloss Black, White, and Walnut remain available, offering flexibility to suit various interiors.

The F701SP is available, priced at £6,500 (€7,700 / $9,000) per pair.
