French audio specialist, Focal, has launched Aria Evo X, a new family of loudspeakers which build on its original Aria 900 range with a host of new technologies, including an ‘M’-shaped inverted dome TAM tweeter, a successor of the TNF tweeter, and Tuned Mass Damper (TMD), said to improve distortion and dynamics in the midrange.
The Aria Evo X collection consists of five models: the Aria Evo X N°1 compact bookshelf speaker (£1,299 / $2,398 pair ); Aria Evo X N°2 ( £2,999 $4,798), N°3 (£3,499 / $5,198), N°4 (£3,999 / $5,998) floorstanding speakers; and Aria Evo X Centre speaker (£699 / $999).
Midrange and bass speaker drivers crafted from Focal’s flax cone. Made from French flax fibre, its claim to fame is a natural sound, with rich midrange reproduction and clear bass.
The ‘M’ shape of the dome is capable of reproducing high frequencies up to 30kHz, says the brand. In the woofers, the magnet has been revamped to deliver more impact in the bass. Focal’s engineers have also reportedly reworked the crossovers to improve loudspeaker balance.
Available now, the Aria Evo X line is ered in Black High Gloss, Prime Walnut and new Moss Green High Gloss finishes.
