Epson has launched two new high-end 3LCD UHD home cinema projectors for media room use, targeting film enthusiasts, sports fans and gamers. Both utilise a high brightness laser light source, and a newly designed 4k image processing chip.
The EH-LS11000W (white chassis) and EH-LS12000B (black chassis) offer a high 2,500,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, present a 4k 8.3mil pixel projected image and include HDR10+ compatibility. The brand says that HDR10+ support reveals extra detail and depth ‘for natural yet richer colours’.
Epson cites a high White and Colour Light Output of 2,700 lumens on the EH-LS12000B, and 2,500 lumens with the EH-LS11000W. The laser light source is expected to run 10 years with typical use.
Both models claim a ratio of 2,5000,000:1, with deep blacks. Additional features include 4k Frame interpolation, 4k Super Resolution and scene adaptive gamma correction with auto contrast enhancement.
Proving its serious about gaming, there’s support for 4k at 120 frames per second from next gen games consoles on HDMI input 2, with input lag times claimed to be below 20ms.
Both projectors set out to simplify set up with motorised optics, including a powered 2.1x optical zoom, powered focus and powered lens shift (±96.3 per cent vertical and ±47.1 per cent) horizontal.
The projectors are also compatible with Calman colour calibration software. The EH-LS11000W and EH-LS12000B will ship October/November 2021, priced at £4,100 and £4,400 respectively.
