Epson has expanded its professional 4K PRO-UHD home laser projector lineup, with the EH-QS100, a super short throw model designed to deliver a cinematic experience into modern living spaces, and not just darkened theatre rooms.
Available in two iterations, the EH-QS100W with white finish and EH-QS100B in black, it joins Epson’s existing line-up of lifestyle EH-QB1000W/B, EH-QL3000W/B, and EH-QL7000W/B pro-grade beamers.
The EH-QS100 is built around Epson's 3LCD technology, delivering 4K PRO-UHD (pixel shifted) resolution with a brightness of 4,500 lumens when casting up to 160 inches.
Typical applications would be movies, sports events, or gaming. The Ultra Short Throw design allows for near-to-wall placement, eliminating shadows and enabling a clean, clutter-free setup with neatly concealed cables.
Epson suggests its laser light source technology has a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours, and offers near-instant warm-up and cool-down times, making them ideal for everyday use in both dedicated media rooms and well-lit living spaces.
The brand claims a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, capable of providing deep blacks and well-defined shadow detail. Advanced image enhancements include 4K frame interpolation, scene adaptive gamma correction, auto contract enhancement, auto contrast enhancement, and HDR10+ support with Dynamic Tone Mapping to enhance visual quality on a frame-by-frame basis.
The EH-QS100 promises seamless integration into smart home ecosystems, with IP control compatibility and support for Crestron, Control4, and RS232C/wired LAN. An Epson Setting Assistant App allows users to fine-tune projection settings quickly and easily.
Ben White, Product Manager for Professional Home Projectors at Epson Europe, emphasised the company's dedication to delivering top-tier home entertainment solutions:
"These latest additions to our Q Series range demonstrate our commitment to this exciting market. As the demand for larger screen entertainment grows, these projectors are emerging as a cost-effective alternative to flat panel screens, delivering high-quality, vibrant, and expansive images in bright living spaces or media rooms."
The EH-QS100W and EH-QS100B are now available through specialist home cinema and professional AV resellers and integrators.
