Japanese loudspeaker specialist Eclipse has unveiled the TD307MK3, its first new model in seven years. The compact, ovoid, full-range speaker has been developed in the brand’s Kobe factory and features technologies trickled down from Eclipse’s high-end models.

Installers should note that the TD307MK3 features an integrated mounting bracket with angle adjustment that enables wall- or ceiling-mounting, for a range of AV applications, and custom installation projects.

Suitable for music, movies and TV, the integrated angle adjustment provides -25 to 30 degrees of movement when placed horizontally, plus 0 to 90 degrees when used on a wall or ceiling.

A new cable-routing design accommodates both larger cables and obscures them from view, for desktop use. There’s also an improved terminal arrangement, which accepts both bare wire and banana-terminated speaker cables.

The TD307MK3 sports a 6.5 cm full-range fibreglass drive unit. the first time fibreglass has been used in the TD307 series. Improvements include a larger neodymium main and sub-magnet system, able to deliver a wider frequency response, especially when it comes to bass (80 Hz–25 kHz range quoted).

The new fibreglass cone also promises greater speed, lower vibration, greater dynamics and a lower noise floor. Vibration has been reduced by 50 per cent over its predecessor.

Masaya Shirai, Eclipse Sales Executive said, “There are lots of great loudspeaker systems in the UK, however, there is something unique in what Eclipse does in terms of ‘sound space reproduction’. We hope music lovers will find an opportunity to experience them and ‘see’ artists perform in front of them, instead of just listening to loudspeakers.”

Available in black or white, theTD307MK3 is priced at £300 each, £600 per pair.
