Dynaudio has launched a new range of high-end active streaming speakers, dubbed Focus. Each model in the range supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Qplay, UPnP, Netradio and Bluetooth. The speakers are Roon Ready, too.
The Focus range is also WiSA compliant, so they can connect wirelessly with WiSA TVs.
The new Focus replaces the previous Focus XD range, and is built for users who want a system to work straight away with no tweaking or additional equipment, and which fits into their living-room without dominating it.
The range comprises three models: Focus 10, a two-way stand-mount speaker, Focus 30, a two-and-a-half-way floorstander, and Focus 50, a three-way floorstander.
The speakers have a fully integrated streaming platform, along with coaxial and optical digital inputs and analogue connections. So CD players or turntables can be hooked up. There’s also a subwoofer output, Ethernet, and supports Dirac Live room calibration.
For ease of use, the Focus speakers will auto-switch inputs depending on which source is selected; they turn on automatically when an input is connected. They are able to sense when the included magnetic Smart Grilles are applied, and will adjust EQ to compensate.
The Focus speakers come with a Bluetooth remote control included in the box.
The range use Dynaudio driver technology, with the brand’s Cerotar tweeter, partnered with the same type of amplifiers the company uses in its professional studio reference monitors.
Integrators can also compensate independently for each speaker’s position in a room from within the app.
The Focus family of speakers was measured in Jupiter, Dynaudio’s high-tech measuring facility, and tuned by the same team responsible for its most prestigious loudspeakers.
The cabinets are made from MDF, and sport aluminium driver surrounds. They’re available in four finishes (White High Gloss, Black High Gloss, Walnut Wood and Blonde Wood). The Dynaudio logo has been adapted, so that it can double as an integrated LED that reveals what the speaker is doing.
The Focus 10 is priced at £4,399 (€5,000, USD $5,500); the Focus 30 sells for £6,499 (€7,500 / USD $8,250); the Focus 50 is £8,699 (€10,000 / USD $11,000).
