AV distributor CUK Group has signed a deal to exclusively distribute the SIM2 range of cinema projectors to residential and commercial integrators, in the UK and Ireland.

SIM2 has a formidable global reputation for performance and design when it comes to high-end projectors, Combining premium optics and laser light sources with Texas Instrument’s large format 0.66-inch UHD DLP technology and proprietary image processing, the Italian brand has been a pioneer when it comes to creating an HDR presentation using projectors.

CUK’s SIM2 product line will include the advanced Domino 4H projector, which is designed for small and mid-size home cinemas and media rooms. The Domino 4H projector uses SIM2’s laser hybrid light source , with a brightness of up to 3,000 ANSI Lumens, and single-chip 0.66-inch 4K UHD DMD with proprietary HDR management for precise HDR image reproduction.

It’ll be joined by SIM2’s ‘SuperHybrid’ Crystal 4SH. A laser-hybrid light source front projector featuring a new high-precision lens and laser-hybrid light source, single-chip 0.66-inch 4K UHD DMD with dual colour wheels and state-of-the-art processing. Features include advanced auto calibration and 3,600 lumens light output.

Integrators also have access to the Domino DTV Ultra Short Throw projector, powered by an RGB laser light source. With 98 per cent coverage of the BT.2020 gamut, this laser TV can project images between 90- to 120-inches.

Topping out the range is SIM2’s Gold Series of custom-made projectors, built using hand-selected components and created for individual projects. Available in two versions, the Gold Series is produced ‘off line’ for each customer by trained engineers and then factory tested and calibrated in an environment that simulates the individual customer’s theatre.

Featuring up to 6,000 lumens of brightness, the Nero 4S Gold Series is designed for large theatres, while the Crystal 4SH Gold Series is intended for mid/large screen size theatres and living rooms, with a light output of 4,000 lumens.

Commenting on the new partnership, SIM2 Sales Director Massimo Zecchin said: “CUK’s success and experience in supporting custom projects large and small for commercial and residential customers offers us a way to realise even greater market recognition and profile across the board with a new range providing a wider spectrum of project sizes and budgets, from the most luxurious integrations to smaller cinemas and media rooms, with superior SIM2 image quality.”

CUK MD Stuart Thomson said: “we’re delighted to be working with one of the world’s most accomplished innovators in home cinema projection. Its pursuit of excellence in a technically challenging aspect of immersive theatre design dovetails perfectly with CUK’s objectives in providing the very finest products and support services to custom integrators.”
