Denon has announced a new high-end home cinema amplifier, the AVC-X6800H. Ready for 8k sources, the new model supports High Frame Rate 4k 120Hz sources and 7680 x 4320 8k video resolution across all seven rear HDMI inputs, and two outputs.
Designed and manufactured in Japan, the AVC-X6800H is being positioned as the foundation for the ultimate home theatre, and it has the specifications to prove it.
It has 11.4 channels of amplification, rated at 205W per channel, and the ability to process up to 13.4 channels if system builders wish to add additional amplification. The model can also operate as an AV preamplifier, using a Pre-Amplifier Mode which provides a cleaner signal path.
Immersive codec support is extensive, with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D support as standard. The receiver is also IMAX Enhanced certified. Audio upscaling is available via Dolby Audio, DTS Neural:X and Auro-Matic.
In addition to universal 4k 120Hz 8K video compliance on all inputs, there’s provision for HLG, HDR, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR pass-through.
Naturally, the AVC-X6800H is also equipped with HEOS ecosystem connectivity, enabling users to easily access streaming music services, and to interact with other HEOS-enabled speakers on the network.
Room calibration is via Audyssey MultEQ XT32, but integrators have the option of upgrading to Dirac Live.
The AVC-X6800H AV amplifier will sell for £3,000 (€3,500).
