Danish audio specialist DALI has launched an in-wall subwoofer and partnering DSP amplifier, as well as a new high end home cinema centre speaker.
The DALI Phantom sub S-100 subwoofer is a 10-inch low-profile in-wall speaker boasting audiophile performance, designed to be driven by the Phantom CI AMP-2500 DSP amplifier, while the DALI Oberon Grand Vokal is a 2-way, full-range centre speaker for larger theatre rooms.
DALI says the Phantom Sub S-100 is based on the same principles as the K-60 LP bass driver, with an extremely stiff, custom aluminium cone.
It’s the first DALI speaker to include CSS (Constant Surface Surround) technology, co-developed by Purifi Audio, Denmark, keeping surround modulation to a minimum.
The DSP amp features 2 x 500 watts Class-D amplification, and can also be bridged into a 1,000 watt mono amp. Integrators can use it to power up to four S-100 in-walls.
Rack mountable, it features an adaptive fan control to keep fan noise to a minimum, plus fully featured DSP and configurator web interface. This built-in DSP offers model specific presets to optimise DALI CI models, for quick and easy installation.
The system set-up can be configured to be wired or wireless and allows access to the DALI Configurator app. This allows installers to manage sound zones, inputs/outputs, carry out firmware updates, import speaker presets and access EQ settings.
The Phantom CI AMP-2500 and Phantom Sub S-100 sell for £2199 (€2199 / $2999) and £1499 (€1499 / $2399) respectively.
The DALI Oberon Grand Vokal is a 2-way, full-range centre speaker intended to partner the brand’s Oberon 7 and Oberon 9 floorstanders in a multi speaker layout. It features two 7-inch SMC-based woofers and an oversized, ultra-lightweight, 29 mm soft dome tweeter.
The membrane of the tweeter is constructed from an ultra-light weight weave fabric said to half the weight of most models in the market. Its extended frequency response is combined with super wide dispersion. The enclosure can be placed above or below a screen, on a stand or a shelf.
The design also incorporates a patented SMC disc in the woofer magnet's iron pole-piece, to reduce mechanical distortion for a detail rich midrange.
Available in Dark Walnut and Black Ash finishes, the Oberon Grand Vokal is priced at £599 (€599 / $999).
