DALI confirms THX Dominus status for V-16F subwoofer

DALI is placing low-frequency performance centre stage at ISE 2026, announcing THX Dominus certification for its premium V-16 F subwoofer.

Aimed at high-end home cinema installations and large-scale private theatres, the V-16 F THX Dominus subwoofer is positioned as a reference-grade solution for integrators specifying systems where scale, accuracy and control are critical.

The certification confirms that the V-16 F has passed THX’s most stringent testing regime, covering output capability, distortion control and consistency at high playback levels - the closest possible approximation of a commercial cinema experience in the home.

First seen at High-End Munich last year, the V-16 F features a 16-inch driver and 1,500 W Class-D amplifier, delivering up to 2,500 W peak output. For pro installation, the V-16 F includes promises advanced system tuning and scalability. These include Room Mode Attenuation to address problematic low-frequency resonances, a Leader/Follower mode for multi-subwoofer configurations, and a Constant Group Delay mode to maintain time coherence across the system.

Krestian Pedersen, Head of Product Management at DALI, said the company was “excited about our first collaboration with THX and that the V-16 F allows DALI to present its approach to bass reproduction to a new audience of home cinema enthusiasts. THX vice president of global technology Steven P. Martz added that the subwoofer had undergone “stringent testing and evaluation” in THX audio labs before achieving Dominus certification.

The DALI V-16 F THX Certified Dominus subwoofer is priced at £4,499 (€4,999).
